Dushyant is an Attorney at law who practices in corporate and commercial law, specialising in commercial litigation and advising on various matters including insurance, industrial disputes, enforcement procedures and international arbitration.

Dushyant set up Legal 500 Tier 1 global offshore law firm Appleby’s Dispute Resolution practice in Mauritius in 2015 and worked there until 2023.

Before joining Appleby, he managed his own practice. In 2010, he joined Etude Guy Rivalland, where he advised leading listed Mauritian companies, including the Mauritius Union Group, United Docks Ltd, Air Mauritius Ltd and private companies: the New India Assurance Company Ltd, Axys Leasing Ltd, DHL and Gamma Civic.

Other recent clients include Official Receiver, Canada Life International Ltd, Eurasian Resources Group Sarl, Asedor Finance Ltd, Essar, Standard Bank Trust (Company) Limited, Standard Chartered Bank, Sir Christopher Hohn, Cloud Innovation Ltd, TPG Axon, Lesotho Telecommunication Authority and Africore Energy Company Ltd. Between 2006 to 2008, Dushyant was retained as an assessor to the Central Electricity Board where he had the privilege to assist Late Honourable Prithviraj Fekna, Judge of the Supreme Court of Mauritius.

In 2017, Dushyant appeared for the petitioners in what was then the largest insolvency proceeding in Mauritius – he was the first attorney to draft a Notice of Bankruptcy as per the provisions of the Insolvency Act and his draft has been adopted and is widely utilised by his fellow colleagues.
In 2019, he participated in an ultra-high net worth trust matter which resulted in the recognition of the principles laid down in Pitt vs. Holt in Mauritius case laws.

Dushyant has advised on international arbitration proceedings for over five years with particular expertise before the London Court of International Arbitration.
